  1. The veteran was a 76y/o Marine who had cancer. When it was covered by the paper, the tiny little article was buried on the 3d page, of a subsection (metro). As of today-9 Nov 2011 the details about this suicide even the information I have included, has not been released. Why?
Is it any wonder that society as a whole is ignorant to the needs and issues of our veterans/families?

  2. Thank you for adding more information. Suicide is a tough one to report on because a lot of times the family doesn't want to talk about it, but there is really no excuse for the paper burying the story.

I go out and film things going on all the time and the biggest complaint our veterans have is the media is never there. When they do bother to show up, the footage and stories are either a couple of seconds or they don't do them at all.

One of the reasons this blog is here. Someone has to cover their stories and at least try to give them the attention they deserve.
